Being a disciple is a lifelong process. Longbranch is committed to sharing the message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ. But entering a right relationship with God through faith is just the beginning of the Christian life. Therefore, we pour ourselves into each other, day by day and week after week. We encourage each other to live transformed lives, reflecting our love for God, our desire to see His name exalted, and our freedom from destructive patterns of sin.
"O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure." (Isaiah 25:1)
We were made for worship. In fact, the Bible teaches that our innate drive to worship leads everyone to worship something. We either worship the Holy God that deep down everyone knows, or we exchange the truth for a lie and center our lives around something found in creation (Romans 1:21-25). Because of this, worshiping God by singing His praises, confessing our dependence on Him, proclaiming His revealed Word, and giving thanks to Him in prayer, is at the very heart of what we do as a church.
The Bible teaches that God created the family as the basic building block of society. Disharmony and disorder in the family is an increasing threat facing our community and our nation. We aim to build up families by strengthening and growing the faith of each individual member, so that each one of us understands and embraces his or her God-given role and responsibility within the family.
We know visiting a church can be overwhelming, even intimidating. But at Longbranch, you'll find authentic people full of genuine warmth and hospitality. You'll never be just a face in the crowd here at Longbranch. We are focused on loving God and loving people.
