Our Beliefs

We believe there is only one God. This one divine being exists eternally as the Trinity of three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • God The Father is the first person of the Trinity, who is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise.
  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who entered human history as a man conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He was fully God, and in the incarnation also became fully man. He lived a sinless life, ministered by the power of the Spirit, offered Himself as the one and only perfect sacrifice for sin by dying on a cross, bodily rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is returning soon.
  • The Holy Spirit is the eternal third person of the Trinity. He convicts unbelievers of their need for salvation. He convicts believers to confess sin and their need for salvation. The Holy Spirit applies the saving work of Jesus by calling people to faith in Christ and regenerating them to new life in Christ.

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life. It contains everything God requires us to know, believe, and do to worship Him and live lives that glorify Him.

We believe that all humans of every race are a unique creation of God, made in His image, and are thus made to know God and steward His creation. Through the sin of the first man, Adam, humanity fell so that all people are sinners and need to be rescued from sin’s presence, power, and consequences.

In salvation, God rescues sinners from the power of sin and from the righteous judgment he will ultimately exercise against unrepentant sinners. Salvation is available to all people as a free gift of God’s grace exclusively through faith in the redemptive power and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead. We believe Jesus will return to the earth personally and visibly in glory. He will raise the dead, judge all humanity, and establish a new heaven and a new earth.

We believe that every person who has received salvation through faith in Christ is eternally secure. For every believer, God will complete the good work of salvation that He began in them.

We believe people were created to exist eternally. People who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in heaven, and those who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in hell. Heaven and hell are real places. Those welcomed into heaven will live there forever in perfect joy with the Lord Jesus. Those cast into hell will suffer eternal punishment away from the Lord.

We believe the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous, local body of baptized believers on mission to make disciples and build God’s Kingdom.

We believe the Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the church.

  • Believer’s baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by water immersion after profession of faith in Christ as Lord and Savior. It is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It symbolizes the believer's death to sin, resurrection to a new life in Christ, and the hope of the believer's ultimate, bodily resurrection to eternal life in heaven.
  • The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of the church, whereby we remember the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ with other believers. It is open to all believers who are living obediently to Christ and are a part of a like-faith church.
